About the Team
The Office of Strategy, Performance and Risk is a catalyst for strategic planning and performance, fostering collaboration, monitoring performance, and integrating risk at all levels, playing a pivotal role in enabling the University’s core mission and shaping strategies for success.

The Office reports into the Division of the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor (SDVC) and provides a critical enterprise-wide function that will drive, facilitate, coordinate, and implement forward-looking strategies to enable WSU’s Vision and Strategy.

Key functional aspects of the portfolio include the integrated strategic and operational planning framework, integrated risk management, strategic and operational performance, enabling strategy planning and performance, business and service performance improvement, project management and assurance, and transformational program oversight and delivery.

These strategic programs are aimed at addressing the broad and evolving challenges being experienced by the University such as increased globalisation, advances in technology, increasing competition and changes to funding models.

About the Role
The Office of Strategy, Performance and Risk is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Project Planning Coordinator.

The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for the provision of high-level project support to the Transformation Program and associated projects and initiatives. The position will provide overall coordination support and will assist with the support, management and documentation of key projects and initiatives. The position will support project and program management activities including risk management, project reporting, scheduling, progress monitoring and cost control.

The position will also assist in drafting key communication documents such as executive papers, summaries, reports and presentations for senior staff and various stakeholders.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until December 2024. The position is based at Westerns Hawkesbury Campus although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. 

About you
The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in business or project management, business improvement and change.
  • Experience in project management, including administration, management and support for project delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and can liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and can develop effective working relationships with clients.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and can manage competing work priorities, meet deadlines, and develop effective solutions to identified problems.
  • Excellent skills in analysing data and findings and writing succinct reports.
  • An ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and act with diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
