About the Team
The Translational Health Research Institute (THRI) is a world-class, interdisciplinary umbrella organisation for health and medical research within Western Sydney University with over 200 academic and clinical research associate members. THRI operates across several multidisciplinary themes including chronic health; health, culture and society; health and wellness across the lifespan; and mental health and wellbeing. THRI drives translational health research impact by providing infrastructure and support to interdisciplinary teams, groups and programs across the University; leadership, capacity and coordination of the University’s health research funding strategy; leveraging opportunities for industry and community-engaged research in the University’s health precinct developments; showcasing and promoting the University’s health research strengths; and delivering a high-quality research training program. THRI also pursues excellence in education that aims to teach students in a way that is contemporary and highly relevant to their career aspirations.

About the Role
The Lecturer in Epidemiology will assist in the implementation and delivery of the Microcredentials in Applied Disease Outbreak Management, and teach into other programs supported by the Epidemiology group (Master of Epidemiology and MD program). The Lecturer will teach subjects offered across these courses.

This position will work closely with the Associate Professor of Population Health, and Chair of Epidemiology in implementing the courses and assisting in the review and quality assurance of curricula.

This is a teaching and research position, and the Lecturer will be expected to contribute to research in Epidemiology / Population Health at THRI in areas including but not limited to Environmental Epidemiology, Global Health, or Infectious Disease Epidemiology.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have Post-graduate qualification in Epidemiology or equivalent at Master or PhD level, experience in teaching in Epidemiology or a related discipline and demonstrated capacity in curriculum design and delivery especially at the postgraduate level
