The Office of Equity, Safety and Wellbeing foster a commitment to the health, wellbeing and safety of our staff and students to empower the entire University community. This includes reviewing and simplifying access and transport for our staff and student population.

The Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Service promotes a culture where all staff and students feel safe and empowered to engage in meaningful work and study, and promotes overall health and wellbeing by focusing on agreed initiatives developed in partnership with key university stakeholders.

The Office of Equity, Safety and Wellbeing are seeking a Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Technical Officer, Laboratories to join the Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team at the Hawkesbury campus. The position is responsible for contributing to the deployment of effective Work Health and Safety services throughout the University and more particularly to providing assistance, advice, direction and support with respect to occupational risk management within laboratories and associated facilities. 

The incumbent is also responsible for developing and coordinating in cooperation with relevant University stakeholders a range of services for the purpose of clarifying the technical aspects of general laboratory safety, the procurement, storage, handling and disposal of hazardous substances, biological safety, radiation safety as well as conducting periodical audits of laboratory safety programs and laboratory facilities.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at the Hawkesbury campus. 

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $120,879 to $134,189 p.a. (comprising Salary of $102,144 to $113,391 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
