About the School of Nursing and Midwifery and Western Sydney Local Health District  
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is a national leader in nursing and midwifery education, research and scholarship, with one of the largest preregistration nursing programs in Australia. We offer undergraduate (Bachelor of Midwifery) and postgraduate (Graduate Diploma of Midwifery) programs leading to eligibility for registration as a midwife and a range of industry informed postgraduate, honours and higher degree research programs.

The School has a strong national and international research profile with strengths in acute and complex care, ageing and aged care, health education and workforce, oral health, mental health; and women’s, children’s and family health. There is a strong program of midwifery research in the school that is nationally and internationally renowned. Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is a leader in clinical services, research and education, WSLHD provides a diverse range of public healthcare to more than 946,000 residents in Sydney’s west as well as services to those outside the catchment from specialty state-wide centres of expertise. The LHD is responsible for delivering and managing $1.7 billion in public healthcare across more than 120 suburbs spanning 780 square kilometres in the Blacktown, The Hills Shire, Cumberland and Parramatta local government areas (LGAs).

About You and the Role  
Western Sydney University (WSU) School of Nursing and Midwifery (SoNM) and Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) are seeking vibrant and innovative applicants to apply for the position of Post Doctoral Fellow.  

This position will work closely with the Clinical Chair in Midwifery at Blacktown Mt Druitt Hospital. The successful applicant will be principally responsible for supporting and developing research and translation of research evidence into practice and models of care in WSLHD.  

Skills and Experiences
The successful applicant will also be expected to support midwifery research through successful applications for competitive grants and other sources of funding.  The incumbent will be responsible for liaising with WSLHD staff, academic and industry partners, health professionals and publishing in high quality journals.

Please note, to be successful in obtaining this position, you will be required to complete health, police and ID checks in line with applicable NSW Health policy and WSLHD guidelines.

Working with Children Check:
It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.

The position will be based at Blacktown Hospital with the expectation of travel to other WSLHD sites/University campuses where required.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level C $164,764 to $189,004 p.a. (comprising Salary of $139,368 to $160,086 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
