About the Role
The Office of Equity, Diversity, Safety and Wellbeing are seeking Casual Educational Support Services Staff to join the Disability Services Team. These casual positions will commence in early March and are required until December 2023.

Western Sydney University requires that all successful applicants for Disability Service positions provide proof of COVID 19 vaccinations, in accordance with WSU Work Health and Safety requirements when working with vulnerable people.

The Disability Service at Western Sydney University is responsible for the provision of reasonable adjustments to enable students with a disability or chronic health condition to complete their studies. Reasonable adjustments include the provision of class notes in an accessible format and practical academic assistance. The work of the Disability Service is underpinned by the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005).

Educational Support Services (ESS) staff attend rostered timetabled classes to take detailed notes and to provide these notes in an accessible format to students. ESS staff may be required to take notes across a wide variety of subject areas. In this role you may also provide practical assistance for students to access resources and participate in the practical aspects of their course.

Positions are available on a variety of Western Sydney University Campuses including; Campbelltown, Bankstown City, Parramatta South and Parramatta City. Please specify within your application what campuses you will be available to work at. Working hours are variable and are dependent on the student timetable and requirements.

Successful applicants are required to complete mandatory Western Sydney University online training modules, which include but are not limited to disability awareness and task responsibilities before commencing employment.

Location: Multiple campuses including; Campbelltown, Bankstown City, Parramatta South and Parramatta City.

Duration of Roles: Until December 2023, up to 20 hours per week. Working hours are variable and are dependent on the student timetable and requirements.

Remuneration: Higher Education Worker (HEW) Level 2, Step 1, $41.25 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading).
