About the Team
The Division of Infrastructure and Commercial facilitates a strategic approach to planning, development and ongoing maintenance of the University's built infrastructure, properties and commercial activities. Working in partnership with all areas of the University community, the division ensures the strategic development and maintenance of the network of campuses and property estate to support the University's learning, teaching and research activities and preserves and enhances the unique aesthetics of the campuses. The division manages the sustainability agenda in line with the University’s vision, and maintains a safe and healthy environment for those that use our campuses. 

About the Role 
The Division of Infrastructure and Commercial is seeking a Commercial Development Project Officer to provide support on key commercial and development projects within the Division of Infrastructure and Commercial. This involves the day-to-day oversight of external project professionals, liaison with stakeholders, customers, and external agencies. The position supports the management of key commercial and development projects, prepares correspondence and briefing papers. The position is also responsible for managing the process for Unsolicited Proposals received in the Division. The position ensures that project works assigned comply with relevant commercial, statutory and legislative requirements and reports on the status of projects assigned and communicates with internal clients, on a regular basis, to inform them of the status of the project, outcomes, and expected completion date. A legal background is preferred, but candidates of construction, finance, architecture, engineering or similar will be considered. 

Key Challenges

  • Making spontaneous decisions regarding commercial and development activities and providing ongoing support to Project owners
  • Supporting project delivery whilst minimising disruption to University business
  • Re-scheduling/planning due to unforeseen circumstances
  • Working under general supervision whilst performing tasks that require proficiency in the University’s policies, procedures, systems and processes

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 7 $117,645 to $126,892 p.a. (comprising Salary of $99,411 to $107,225 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
