About the Team
Infrastructure and Commercial facilitates a strategic approach to planning, development and ongoing maintenance of the University’s built infrastructure, properties and commercial activities.  Working in partnership with all areas of the University community, the directorate ensures the strategic development and maintenance of the network of campuses and property estate to support the University’s learning, teaching and research activities and preserves and enhances the unique aesthetics of the campuses.  The directorate manages the sustainability agenda in line with the University’s vision and maintains a safe and healthy environment for those that use our campuses.

About the Role
The Infrastructure and Commercial Division is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Facilities Management Officer.

The Facilities Management Officer is part of the team that delivers technical expertise and services to the University’s core campuses. This involves the oversight of third party managed facilities such as the University’s CBD Campuses, whilst working collaboratively with Campus Coordinators and Technical Managers. This role includes the delivery of minor building and refurbishment works, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams of contractors including maintenance, cleaning and grounds service providers and quality assurance inspections.

The Facilities Management Officer will also move between various campuses to cover any leave or absenteeism to ensure campus operations are maintained and the student and teaching experiences remain positive.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Westerns Hawkesbury Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.

About you
The successful candidate will:

  • Possesses tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or substantial industry experience, ideally in a large, complex work setting.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of state and federal infrastructure legislation.
  • Show proficiency in project management and documentation practices, including technical drawing interpretation and specification preparation.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving skills, adept at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Display excellent oral and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities, particularly in a facilities management context.
  • Demonstrates advanced computer literacy, proficient in various PC-based applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, project management software, and AutoCAD.

Remuneration Package:  HEW Level 6 $107,358 to $115,073 p.a. (comprising Salary of $90,719 to $97,238 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
