About Us:
Worldwide, cities are planting trees in the millions, yet information on the survival and condition of urban trees is scarce. Ensuring urban tree survival is crucial to providing multiple benefits for decades to come. This project aims to establish the basis to develop the Australian Urban Tree app, a digital platform that provides governments and the public with an easy mechanism to contribute real-time data on urban tree health observations.

About the role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mobile App Software Developer to join our dynamic team at the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment. We are seeking for a casual employee to work with us three months. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge mobile applications.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code for mobile applications.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience in mobile app development including backend services to handle data storage and retrieval.
  • Proficiency in Programming Languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Swift), and experience with mobile frameworks (e.g., Android SDK, iOS SDK).
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Remuneration:

Higher Education Worker Level 7 – $68.04 per hour (includes 25% casual loading).
