About the Role
The Manager, Mental Health and Wellbeing Team plays a critical role in leading a team responsible for the day-to-day operational provision of prevention, promotion, and early intervention programs and services related to mental health and wellbeing of Western’s staff and students. T
his position is pivotal in coordinating the development and review of the University's Wellbeing and Mental Health Strategy, ensuring its successful implementation and alignment with organisational goals. The Manager will collaborate extensively within the University, across the educational sector, and with external partners to prioritise mental health and wellbeing strategic initiatives for the entire university community.
About you
Are you systemic in your thinking, agile in your approach and have an open mindset?
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, membership of a degree-relevant association, such as the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and extensive experience in a clinical environment and/or mental health promotion setting.
- Leadership experience within mental health or wellbeing services and a strong understanding of mental health issues facing university students from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and liaise with a diverse range of individuals and organisations at all levels.
- A commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in mental health and wellbeing services.

Working with Children Check: This position may involve direct or unsupervised contact with children, and in accordance with legislative requirements, it is a requirement to obtain a “NSW Working with Children Check Clearance”. This is a full-time, ongoing position with campus location to be negotiated.
Remuneration Package: HEW Level 9 $151,302 to $161,579 p.a. (comprising Salary of $127,852 to $136,536 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
