About the role
Working in an Agile environment, the QA Automation Engineer will define, implement and manage test automation tools, frameworks and methodologies, promoting an automation-first approach across all Quality Assurance activities including functional and non-functional aspects of the software delivered.
You will foster and promote QA Engineering approach, uplifting automation capabilities across the QA team as well as within projects and delivery squads.
As the QA Automation Engineer, you will define appropriate levels of test automation coverage for new initiatives as well as BAU activities, leading a team of QA Automation Analysts in delivering maintainable and robust automated suites to enable speed of delivery and high-quality releases.
You will work closely with the DevOps practice to embed automated testing in CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster delivery cycles whilst ensuring quality of releases.
Be a champion for automation and agile ways-of-working, continuously identifying new automation opportunities, managing an automation backlog and working collaboratively across ITS to deliver world-class QA automation. This role reports to QA Manager.
About you
Experience in leading QA Automation teams to deliver test automation work that reduces test cycles, improves quality of releases and significantly uplifts software engineering practices.
Deep understanding of the “inverted” testing pyramid and relevant types of tests in each part of the pyramid.
Deep understanding of common testing tools and automation toolsets. (Highly desirable: Jenkins, Selenium, Cucumber, Atlassian JIRA & TestRail, Postman & Preferable: PMD, SonarQube, Eclipse)
Good understanding of common software failures and faults
Experience in automation across Unit Testing, System Testing, API, SIT, Performance & Volume
Good understanding of test automation integration into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps activities
Extensive experience with both Automation and manual testing
You know, and love working with the latest software stacks and test automation frameworks, can utilize multidimensional test data sets, and draw from experience to impact our platform.
You will be passionate about education and can deliver thorough test results in a fast-paced environment.
