About the opportunity 

Our Protective Services team provide the physical and technical security across the University campuses, a key part of this responsibility includes coordinating incident and emergency response. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Protective Services Emergency Management Capability Coordinator to ensure the University of Sydney undertakes appropriate planning and preparedness for disruptions and/or incidents that put the University’s vision and values at risk. Instilling a collaborative and client-centric culture, your role will be pivotal in developing and subsequently enhancing and validating the effectiveness of frameworks, guidance, and training available to the University surrounding emergency management. Through the development and facilitation of exercises and training, this role will see you work with a wide range of stakeholders within the University to ensure awareness and readiness to respond to and recover from all levels of disruptions and incidents.

  • extensive experience developing exercises, facilitating workshops and training surrounding emergency management protocols

  • strong experience in Incident and Emergency capability development and coordination

  • experience working in Emergency Management within a corporate or government environment

  • highly developed stakeholder management skills in collaborating with senior leadership, stakeholders and clients

  • well-developed consulting skills, providing accurate and concise advice to a diversified stakeholder base

  • outstanding presentation, communication and negotiation skills to deliver messaging on a variety of channels to varied audiences.

Other

Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University. Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements. If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step, including the termination of your employment.
