- Engage with industry and manage the planning & delivery of a multifaceted program
- Part-time opportunity, with a mix of flexible work arrangements!
- Join the CSIRO team today & help build workforce capacity in the biomedical field
Do you take pride in your project management skills, and enjoy collaborating with various stakeholders from the science and/or biomedical sectors? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Project Officer to join our CSIRO Education & Outreach Team!
CSIRO’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) aims to help undergraduate students improve their lab skills and boost Australia’s biomedical capability. The program partners with leading organisations within the biomedical and biotechnology sectors, and it provides a platform for undergraduate students from universities across Victoria to gain first-hand experience of research in these sectors. While CSIRO is committed to solving Australia’s greatest challenges through innovative science and technology, we’re also determined to ensure future generations of Australians are equipped for the future, and through the UROP program, we aim to give students an insight into biomedical careers and build workforce capacity in biomedical research, particularly in developing fields.
As the Project Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the planning and coordination of all activities and events related to the UROP rounds. You will bring your passion for science, and your excellent project management, communication, event coordination and industry networking skills into this role to ensure smooth operation of the program. You will also be actively involved in reviewing the outcomes and supporting the program’s continuous improvement.
If you’re interested in engaging with tertiary students, working closing with industry, and playing a key role in building a pipeline of future STEM professionals, we would love to hear from you! This is a part-time opportunity offered at 0.8 FTE and may require some travel.
