  • One Part-time 0.4 FTE fixed term contract until 13 December 2023
  • Salary: $84,539 to $92,941 per annum pro rata (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role 

Reporting to the Executive Officer, you will provide a high level of project support to the Director: Student Engagement Unit and the Student Engagement Unit Leadership Team and will undertake research, analysis, project and systems support to improve student engagement outcomes.

The Student Engagement Unit (SEU) is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of student facing services that will enhance the on-campus and off-campus student experience for all students. The SEU also takes strategic steps to inform the quality of the student experience of learning and teaching, support services, the learning environment, and student facilities.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Provide high-level research including collection and analysis of literature and/or data to support the student service activities in the SEU
  • Design and develop research methodologies, prepare briefing papers, reports and recommendations for the Director: SEU and the SEU Leadership Team
  • Work with the Director: SEU and the SEU Leadership Team to develop new initiatives within student services by researching best practice nationally and internationally
  • Monitor and analyse staff enquiries and provide support in relation to access and maintenance of the SEU’s platforms.
  • Facilitate interaction between all teams in the SEU to ensure best practice in service delivery

Essential Skills and Experience 
  • Sound relevant experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated research, analytical and information literacy skills to locate and evaluate literature and resources and present information in written formats
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills together with resourcefulness and initiative to manage multiple priorities and projects under broad direction
  • Highly developed computer literacy skills and demonstrated experience and understanding of University systems that support a complex business services environment
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills appropriate to working with a range of University staff and appropriate to coordinating working groups
  • An understanding of contemporary issues influencing student engagement in higher education in Australia and globally (desirable)
