  • Part-time (0.6 FTE), 12 month fixed term contract
  • Commencement Salary: $71,205 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

As the Project Officer, you will support the Department of Rural Health's (DRH)  research efforts and work primarily within the project titled ifarmwell . The project’s mission is to equip farming families and their support network with tools that prevent or reduce the negative impact stressful situations like drought have on their lives, so they can make better decisions and have more time and energy to focus on the things that make them feel fulfilled and happy.

Along with supporting the research efforts relating to the co-design, evaluation, and dissemination of the ifarmwell online self-help interventions, you will also contribute to the development and delivery of well-being focused training to members of the rural community, in particular to farmers, using evidence-based and culturally appropriate methods. This key role is critical to the success of the ifarmwell project.

The University of South Australia’s Department of Rural Health (DRH) is aligned to UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance within the portfolio of the Dean: Clinical Education and Equity, it is a multidisciplinary team of academics and professional staff.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide project management and high-level administrative support to the implementation of communication/marketing and commercialisation plans of the ifarmwell project
  • Contribute to the co-design and promotion of online self-help interventions for the ifarmwell project, designed to improve the well-being of all Australians, regardless of where they live
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Research Fellow, contribute to a wide range of DRH programs that encourage students to pursue a career in rural health care
  • Create and deliver interactive, evidence-based wellbeing workshops ensuring they are culturally and contextually appropriate for members of the farming community

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health or mental health discipline
  • Understanding of farming in Australia in particular agriculture
  • Project management experience, along with demonstrated ability to contribute to the planning and management of projects
  • Demonstrated mental health-related clinical experience and/ or extensive experience in the development and delivery of mental health-related written resources and interactive training and workshops
  • High level verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to contribute to a high performing team-based environment while working with initiative and self-direction
