  • Full-time secondment/ fixed term contract until 31 December 2025
  • Commencement Salary: $76,304 per annum plus 17% superannuation

We are seeking a Project Officer to contribute to one of the largest changes to higher education in Australia over the past 30 years and help shape the new Adelaide University. You will work for the University of South Australia and be based in the Integration Management Office (IMO) in the Corporate & Finance Domain. 

About the Domain

The Integration Management Office (IMO) has established functional areas which are referred to as Domains. Each Domain is responsible for executing tasks and producing deliverables that are crucial to the establishment of the new Adelaide University.

The Corporate and Finance Domain focuses on the transformation and integration of finance and corporate services (Go to Market, Risk, Assets & Infrastructure, Planning & Analytics and Legal) into the new university. More concretely, the domain will support the setup and transition of the new processes, policies, systems, organisation & governance and reporting of Finance and Corporate Services for Adelaide University.

About the role

As the Project Officer you will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects for the Corporate and Finance (C&F) Domain to support the creation of the new Adelaide University. You will play a critical role in the team supporting the delivery of project activity, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and quality. The primary objective of the role is to assist project teams with administrative and technical tasks to assure the implementation and timely delivery of project activity. You will also be responsible for producing high-quality outputs, analysis, and developing relationships and collaborating with colleagues from both Universities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate a range of nominated projects, including scoping, scheduling, tracking, evaluating and reporting against key milestones and deliverables 
  • Provide high level, project, and administrative support to the Project Manager and, where relevant Senior Project Officers 
  • Develop, document, and deliver quality administration systems, processes and activities to support the achievement of project objectives 
  • Research and compile information for communications and assist in the preparation of presentations 
  • Provide support for working groups. committees and meetings with key stakeholders

Essential Skills and Experience
  • High-level administrative skills including experience providing project support in a complex project environment  
  • Strengthened research, analytical, and policy interpretation skills 
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise and anticipate requirements 
  • High level attention to detail and experience in producing high-quality correspondence and reports 
  • High degree of initiative and resourcefulness, with the ability to instigate and undertake tasks with minimal supervision and acting as a team-player 
  • Good understanding of finance functions and experience working on a finance and/or other corporate services project in an administration and/or coordination capacity is desirable
