About the Role

Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute are seeking a Project Officer to help a national research study aiming to encourage detection, diagnosis, and management of dementia - ‘Promoting Timely Diagnosis of Dementia’. Working in a small team and under broad supervision, the Project Officer will assist in developing the campaign in Adelaide through participant recruitment, data collection and preparing reports, among other responsibilities. Stakeholder engagement is essential to this role, by-way-of consultation with the public, sharing educational materials and achieving project milestones within the team. The role may involve some travelling and the Project Officer will be required to have a drivers license and car.

About You

To be a successful Project Officer you will be an excellent communicator in all formats, particularly in your ability to discuss topics including risks of dementia with older people and their families, and in establishing great working relationships. You are highly organised by nature, managing multiple deadlines and tasks while working independently. Experience working with public health campaigns is desirable.

You should also demonstrate:

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualifications; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and/or training.

  • The ability to give engaging presentations to a wide range of audiences.

  • Experience working with older people or in communications roles (desirable).
