  • Excellent Project Navigator role with the Health and Analytics team working on Motivate C, a Hepatitis C based research project

  • Base Salary $91,644 - $98,796 + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Navigator, with a passionate interest in public health and well-being, to be the central contact point for our clinical research project, MOTIVATE-C, a Hepatitis-C based project. This is a pro-active role where you will facilitate participant recruitment, build relationships with the participants and help guide them through all the various procedures involved in the project.

MOTIVATE-C is managed by the Health and Clinical Analytics (HCA) team, which designs and coordinates a broad and growing portfolio of practice-changing trials and other clinical studies. This dynamic and cross-disciplinary team takes pride in its reputation for delivering innovative research of the highest standard. They work to support a growing network of clinicians, researchers and community members with a shared motive to improve health through novel approaches to clinical research backed by cutting-edge analytics. Participants for the research will be recruited from NSW and WA (possibly other states) and therefore we can offer flexibility in hours of work to cover relevant time zone differences. The opportunity to work from home is also available and encouraged.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • establish trusted relationships with and serve as primary point of contact for participants and confirm participant suitability and eligibility in line with protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria

  • effectively and empathetically outline and detail the project procedures to potential participants and ensure Informed Consent is obtained according to the Principles for Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) and in accordance with NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans

  • establish a working professional relationship with the health care providers and other investigators and facilitate connection of the participant to the treatment prescriber

  • undertake collection of data in accordance with ICH-GCP research standards and the study protocol and maintain documentation of all participant encounters and complete reporting requirements according to institutional standards

  • communicate, work cohesively, and liaise with the Research Team to appraise them of any issues/knowledge that would benefit the project/team and resolve simple non-routine issues that might arise in the course of daily activities associated with the research project

  • provide effective coordination of meetings and communications with collaborators and stakeholders as required

About you

  • excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of empathy, tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters. Experience in communicating or involvement with marginalised communities would be highly desirable

  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment in identifying and raising issues that may affect the research project

  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes

  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.

  • computer literacy – proficient computer skills including Microsoft suite and electronic data capture

  • graduate qualifications in relevant discipline (health promotion/health science/social work/nursing) or equivalent experience, with subsequent relevant experience in related field.
