  • Base Salary $109K - $120K (HEO8) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney has formed a global collaboration to apply data science and artificial-intelligence methods to solve intractable problems in public health. The hub is part of the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health , a joint project led by the University of Hong Kong in collaboration with the University of Sydney, University College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

We are currently seeking an experienced Program Manager to provide overall project management and guidance to support implementation of key strategies and programs of work across Division/Faculty/PSU.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • manage and oversee project organisation such as developing the project organisation structure, the project charter, workforce plans and project processes and resources required to support implementation

  • build and implement overall project plans providing effective management of activities and deliverables to ensure milestones and deliverables are realised

  • develop and embed project governance and reporting to ensure progress is monitored and risks mitigated

  • manage stakeholders and communications, ensuring effective collaboration and teamwork with other project teams and stakeholders across the University.

About you

  • experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects

  • experience project managing multiple work streams

  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that arise as part of normal daily work

  • financial management experience and literacy

  • a demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work, sometimes under pressure, with competing priorities  

  • previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation.

  • experience with event coordination

  • good organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
