The Institute for Social Science Research

The Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) undertakes solution focused research addressing societal challenges and is a national leader in advanced interdisciplinary social science and evidence-based policy research. ISSR researchers work with diverse academic disciplines and collaborate with government agencies and the private and not-for profit sectors to address key Australian and international public policy  questions that span the life course and require investigation of areas such as social inequality, health and well-being, education, employment, housing, social services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander environments research and international development. The Institute leads advances in social science and evaluation methodology, and is developing new capabilities in social data science.

About This Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to perform overall project management tasks associated with the National Support for Child and Youth Mental Health Program Overarching Evaluation (CHYME) project.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing all contractual obligations with the CHYME evaluation
  • Providing management of financial operations, including forecasting, expenditure monitoring, financial reporting and on-going management of annual budgets
  • Managing research support staff to prepare and maintain ethics applications, data linkage requests, publication submissions and similar technical and general duties.
  • Providing guidance to academic staff in the preparation of research reports and grant applications.

This position is located at Long Pocket.

  • Well-developed skills in research project management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and independently
  • A high level of communication skills and demonstrated inter-personal skills

This is a part-time, 2 year fixed term position at Research Professional HEW 08.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $98,298.92 - $110,376.42, plus super of up to 17%.
