Why your role matters

The Office of the PVC Inclusion is responsible for KPI’s related to the UNSW’s achievement on the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

The Project Manager Sustainability reporting plays a pivotal role in the delivery of UNSW’s submissions to sustainability and social impact rankings and networks. This signals UNSW’s ongoing commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), societal impact and community engagement.

This person will manage the collection and collation of information about our contribution to advancing the SDG’s and societal impact from across the University whilst working collaboratively with stakeholders. This role also plays a crucial role in promoting understandings of the memberships and rankings to continuously engage their value and meaning for UNSW.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive graduate experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven experience supporting committees and providing strategic advice, planning and reporting to senior management including the drafting of briefings and reports that synthesise complex technical information for a range of non-technical audiences, to meet the University’s research reporting and information needs
  • A deep understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and other societal impact and community engagement networks, and the role these external networks, memberships and accords play in the University’s strategy
  • Proven experience developing submissions to external networks, memberships and accords which signal UNSW’s ongoing commitment to the
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet priorities, manage competing deadlines and use sound judgement in decision-making.
  • Experience proactively gathering, collating and preparing high-level data analysis and technical reports related to UNSW’s participation in rankings and membership submissions
  • Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including staff and students, to encourage SDG-related initiatives are on the Sustainability Matters website
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including preparation of briefing papers and submissions and producing complex management documents, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
