Defence Trailblazer is seeking a dynamic Project Manager – Research and Development Acceleration. The successful candidate will collaborate with Theme Leads, Partnership Managers, Research Contract Managers and industry partners to develop high-level and detailed theme and project plans and resourcing requirements. to enable successful research project establishment and management.

A key member of the wider team, the Project Manager will have excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to support the development of agile and effective project approval and reporting processes. Working in an agile environment, the Project Manager will be responsible for continuous development and maintenance to ensure alignment with governing boards and grant condition requirements.

To be successful you will need:

  • Proven advanced project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Experience with managing the delivery of strategic projects and/or innovation design processes.
  • Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • The successful candidate may be required to hold or attain an Australian government security clearance.

Experience working in the Defence industry will be advantageous.
