This is a full-time continuing position (36.75 hours per week) at HEP 8 classification, $106,346 - $119,760 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation contribution.

The Opportunity 

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and proactive Project Manager – Annual Capital Projects to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Associate Director - Capital Projects, the Project Manager will be responsible for the full life cycle of project delivery on a wide range of projects and initiatives relating to VU’s built environment that will improve the overall experience for our students, staff, and community. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with highly regarded and supportive project management leaders in a fast paced and dynamic environment.


About You

We are seeking a highly organised Project Manager with extensive experience and a proven track record in delivering a diverse range of built infrastructure projects (big and/or small) within the tertiary education setting or similarly complex environment. 

With strong interpersonal skills, you will be adept at collaborating with and influencing diverse stakeholder groups and partnering closely with a broad range of internal business functions. 

You will have a best practice approach to project management with a strong regard for compliance, financial control and stakeholder satisfaction.

You will also possess:

  • Project management related qualification and understanding of methodologies such as Agile, Prince2 or PMBOK.
  • Strong regard for finances including accounts management, budget management, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Experience in procurement activities for infrastructure projects and understanding of the related principles, compliance, purchasing and supply contract requirements and management. 
  • High level problem solving skills and able to navigate a complex environment
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail including experience in writing reports, communications and preparing presentations for a senior audience
