About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Project Leader to come join us in the Aerostructures Innovation Research Hub (AIR Hub) and be part of a world-class collaboration between Australian aerospace industry leaders and research partners. 

Reporting to the AIR Hub Director, you will be responsible for leading an interdisciplinary team focused on application projects with industry partners to ensure project success and the future growth of the AIR Hub.  You will contribute to building the AIR Hub’s reputation as a recognised international centre of aerospace innovation and application, working with technical vision and expertise to bring cutting edge research to application in their projects.  Utilising your strong stakeholder management skills, you will develop excellent relationships across the University with the investigator team, the core AIR Hub delivery team, the students, research services and with external partners, clients and stakeholders. 

It is expected you will leverage your previous experience in advanced development and research and development project management and demonstrate past success, to support the maturation and growth of the AIR Hub, building a positive culture and best practice processes.  The Project Leader, AIR Hub will also contribute to the design and implementation of management plans, build operational processes, support the development of a project management framework and manage resources to achieve optimal outcomes.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Extensive and broad Project Management experience with proven success on a number of technical development and build projects
  • Expertise in project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Highly developed analytical, strategic, and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to research and analyse

Qualifications
  • A postgraduate degree level qualification in a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  
  • Relevant Project Management qualification(s)
