Faculty of Health Sciences

The Faculty of Health Sciences is large and diverse, comprising four Schools and two research institutes.

The academic Schools are Curtin Medical School, Curtin School of Allied Health, Curtin School of Nursing and Curtin School of Population Health. Together, we educate more health professionals than any other Western Australian tertiary institution.

Courses cover 24 disciplines and feature a strong interprofessional education focus, necessitating excellent inter-School communication and cooperation.


University Department of Rural Health

University Departments of Rural Health (also known as UDRHs) are academic centres based in rural and remote Australia.

The core activity for the UDRH is delivery of inspiring and engaging student placements in various health disciplines in the Goldfields region, with the longer-term goal of increasing the number of health science graduates electing to live and work in the area. During their placements, students will reside in the area and undertake tuition with a significant online component, supported by face-to-face activities at the University’s Kalgoorlie campus.


Your new role

We are seeking a Project Manager who will lead the early development and implementation of this program and be responsible for overseeing establishment of these activities.

While this position is based in Perth, applicants must be willing to travel to regional/rural locations.
Activities that you will undertake in establishing the UDRH will include…

  • Extensive liaison between various areas of the University, external partners, and stakeholders
  • Liaison between Schools and community healthcare staff to negotiate initial establishment of placements in various health disciplines
  • Under the direction of the Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Health Sciences, coordinate initial establishment of teaching activities for students in the UDRH by liaising between Schools and the Kalgoorlie campus
  • Establish arrangements and procedures for student travel and accommodation
  • Oversee development of cultural competence and site-specific cultural training in collaboration with people from the Wongutha and other language groups
  • Oversee development of entry pathways, promotion activities, and student selection processes
  • Oversee development of a representative community advisory group

You will be qualified to degree level with extensive project management experience and proven project management expertise, preferably in health.

Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster productive relationships with a range of internal and external groups is key in this role.

While this position is based in Bentley, Perth, applicants must be willing to travel regularly to regional/rural locations. Applicants with demonstrated high level knowledge of Indigenous organisations, and management/leadership experience within these are strongly encouraged to apply.
