About the position

The Dementia Training Australia (DTA) consortium is an Australian Government funded dementia education program aimed at increasing the capacity of the health and aged care workforce and healthcare students to care for people with dementia.

DTA provides a range of training and education services and activities nationally through collaboration across consortium members. The La Trobe University DTA team is responsible for the delivery of DTA’s Dementia Champion Program, General Practitioner (GP) education program, Pain Consultancy Service and Tailored Training Programs (TTP).

The purpose of this position is to plan, develop, deliver and assist in the continuous improvement of the Dementia Champions Program delivered by La Trobe University in conjunction with the project team. The role will coordinate and lead the development of key educational resourcesand lead the coordination of the pilot testing phase of the program. The Dementia Champions Program is designed to develop practice leaders equipped to implement sustainable change in their care environments.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
  • Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
  • An ability to prepare and interpret project management tools and schedules
  • Good understanding of project reporting and governance
  • Knowledge of the experience of dementia is preferred
  • Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Solid organisational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of project management systems such as Monday.com
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
