The Curtin Institute for Computation (CIC)

Data Science now fundamentally underpins the majority of internationally competitive research across all fields and disciplines. As the demand for data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and computational skills has grown, so too has the need for a dedicated institute that can support the research community.

The Curtin Institute for Computation (CIC) was established to meet this increasing demand for computational modelling, data analytics, and visualisation. It initiates and fosters collaborative, interdisciplinary research and education programs with researchers.

Our computational specialists assist in applying computational methods across the sciences, engineering, social sciences, health science, business, and the humanities to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
The CIC is a core underpinning of Curtin’s Digital Transformation space.

Innovation Central Perth (ICP)
ICP is Curtin’s Innovation Centre co-funded by global technology company Cisco Systems with the intention to support WA industry with digital innovation. ICP is a Membership-based Centre for WA organisations to tap into the unique capabilities of the Curtin-Cisco partnership. ICP brings students into a larger delivery team to develop digital prototypes and support the adoption of Industry 4.0.
Australian Space Data Analysis Facility (ASDAF)
The Australian Space Data Analysis Facility enables Australian SMEs and researchers to accelerate innovation in their projects and services by supporting access to space data and technologies. ASDAF is funded by the Australian Space Agency and the WA State Government and supported by project delivery partners: the Pawsey Supercomputer Centre, the Curtin Institute for Computation, and the WA Data Science Innovation Hub.
