  • Base salary range: Level 5 $73,982 – $81,999 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team

Transition Services support students from time of offer until the student is successfully settled into their academic study and connected to the University community. Transition Services provides timely, relevant information to commencing students, offer support through the UniMentor mentoring programs, provides on-boarding support for commencing students and leads the University’s orientation programs. The Transition Services’ team provide advice and support to commencing students on a wide range of issues to help them transition successfully at the University as well as delivering a range of activities and programs to support their ongoing journey at UWA.

About the opportunity

You will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating the University’s orientation and transition programs for students, in collaboration with the Manager, Transition Services, and key stakeholders in other sections of Student Life and the University community.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Substantial relevant student administrative experience at an appropriate level
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant issues impacting on the successful transition to university of commencing students
  • Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills specific to client consultation and liaison, including experience in public speaking
  • Demonstrated highly developed organisational skills, particularly the ability to coordinate large scale events
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spread sheets, databases, web editing, email and social media
  • Highly developed ability to work independently as part of a team, set priorities and meet deadlines

Note: Occasional after hours or weekend work may be required at time of Orientation twice yearly
