The Opportunity
The Founders Program aids all UNSW staff, students and alumni to build the capability, mindset and networks they need to create positive impact through entrepreneurship. This is achieved through delivering foundational entrepreneurship experiences, educating founders with knowledge on how to design and execute successful business models, and connecting entrepreneurs to the local and international innovation ecosystems.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Startups, you will develop and deliver entrepreneurial skill building programs for all UNSW students, staff and alumni. The role will build on the reputation of UNSW as a leading University for entrepreneurship in line with the University’s 2025 Strategy and will have the opportunity to create positive impact for many different UNSW stakeholders.

Who you are
You have a relevant tertiary qualification and or equivalent level of experience in program and/or event delivery, and can demonstrate the following Skills and Experience:-
- Understanding of current best-practice startup support methodologies and techniques and a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem and its key players and roles.
- Excellent knowledge of design thinking and entrepreneurship methodologies or related disciplines. • Working with entrepreneurs and students while also providing support via coaching and mentoring.
- Facilitating group workshops/training and high-level of comfort with public speaking and event hosting.
- Designing and delivering events, both in-person and online.
- High level interpersonal, strong consultation, influencing and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective and constructive working relationships with colleagues; and to clearly convey ideas and information while demonstrating excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- Outstanding organisational skills with a proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, manage projects effectively, and establish priorities while meeting strict and/or tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solving, with a high degree of autonomy, and the ability to resolve issues as they arise.
- Advanced level of computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and software tools like CRM’s, Slack, etc.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
