Why your Role Matters
As Program Manager, you will work with the Greater Sydney Project Team taking a leading role from development through to delivery, consulting closely with leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure cross-project buy-in and an effective collaborative delivery process across uplift projects, building or extending higher education sites.

Highly experienced in program establishment, business case development and delivery, you'll leverage your substantial expertise to implement best project/program management practices at scale in a complex environment. This includes overseeing business operations models, schedules of multiple workflows, key milestones, budgets, interdependencies, risks, and change management to make a real impact in realising UNSWs strategic objectives for UNSW students, staff and partners.

The Program Manager reports to the Director of Transformation & EPMO, direct reports vary in number according to program phase and includes (but not limited to), Change Manager and Business Analysts.

Skills and Experience summary: You’ll bring a successful track record of delivering complex transformation programs, ideally within the University sector project including building utilisation and development. With a naturally collaborative and entrepreneurial leadership style, you’ll be directing a team bringing strategic objectives to realisation through thoughtful leadership and forward-thinking strategic planning that navigates higher education program complexities, alongside:

  • Extensive experience and proven effective leadership in managing a program team in a dynamic, changing, and complex organisation.
  • Financial management experience and literacy, experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure for a project.
  • Confidence in developing business cases, program governance and substantial experience working with and delivering multiple projects successfully.
  • Demonstrated high-level ability to manage and drive continuous improvement, problem solve, identify risks, and respond flexibly to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent written communication skills across reports and committee papers with the confidence to write and present concisely and persuasively to senior stakeholders.
