  • Salary range $122,064 - $129,316 plus 17% superannuation (dependent on experience)

In 2020, La Trobe University is implementing a large panel of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programs to empower La Trobe students, researchers and communities and create positive economic, social, and environmental impact. The activities will engage staff, students and community from awareness to scale with focus on Health & Wellbeing, Agriculture & Food, Cyber & Digital. 

One of two main focusses of Innovation and Entrepreneurship team will be the creation of an outstanding student experience by immerging La Trobe students into a large panel of entrepreneurial experiences from working integrating learning to accelerator program.

The Program Manager supports the Director of the La Trobe Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program by managing and coordinating the operations needed for the development and delivery of a new framework of entrepreneurship and innovation programs with our partners and La Trobe University resources. The Program Manager works within a small team that is accountable to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Industry Engagement) and actively promotes a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across La Trobe Campuses and its regional communities.

This role supports actions specific to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program and Industry Engagement Functions:

Some of your duties will include:

  • Coordinate the delivery of Students Entrepreneurship “Elevate” program.
  • Preparation, execution and delivery of programs management of applications and selection process, bootcamps, networking events, coaching and mentoring, taking into account any Government requirements and University policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Report on projects’ delivery and outcomes to stakeholders, government organisations and University management.
  • Manage the delivery of the new set of programs collaboratively with all University stakeholders.
  • Together with the Director manage internal and external partner relations to ensure an outstanding delivery of the programs.
  • Work with student’s organisation that are promoting the program. You will spend time engaging with the Students and Alumni Entrepreneurship Clubs and support their growth. 

Skills and Experience: 

  • A graduate degree in business and/or innovation and relevant work experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Program management experience from metrics to timelines, communication channels, contingency plans and sophisticated programs on tight deadlines within the university sector or related field.
  • Strong communicator and team builder excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and relentless relationship-builder demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships in a warm, genuine way, liaising with internal and external stakeholders within an academic and/or entrepreneurship environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills demonstrated ability to work in a complex, highly regulated organisation in an agile and responsive fashion. Demonstrated success in reaching deadlines and achieve outcomes even when there are numerous other "priorities" and distractions.
  • Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments

Preferable: 

  • Experience in entrepreneurship environment or experience in working in a startup, startup environment, and/or have worked in supporting startups to grow.
