Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT

At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT , our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory.  We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health.

Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce.  All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community. 


Flinders in Alice Springs

Alice Springs / Arrernte Country is an important gateway for exploring the Red Centre and through the Flinders’ footprint across the Australian Central Corridor. We aim to improve the health outcomes of people in remote communities through high-quality education, training, and research with a focus on Remote Health. We have campuses in Alice Springs at the Centre for Remote Health, and at the Rabuntja Building in the Alice Springs Hospital Grounds. About the Role

Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT Regional Training Hub (RTH) are currently recruiting for a Program Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for coordinating the administrative operations and delivery of the RTH programs and associated activities including the day-to-day management of business, projects and partnerships. They will also provide support to the Program Manager to assist with the marketing strategies, promoting specialist training programs, including administration of social media platforms and website content. Integration and support for associated projects, including engaging with medical students and junior doctors interested in rural careers will also be part of the role, so previous experience in the medical space would be advantageous but not essential.

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.

  • Well-developed experience in project administration, planning and program implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance.

  • Demonstrated understanding and cultural sensitivity concerning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians including the impact of the social determinants of health within an NT context.

  • Demonstrated relevant knowledge and executive level experience within a rural or remote University or medical environment (desirable).

  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, or an understanding of medical workforce maldistribution and specialist and generalist medical training programs and pathways (desirable).
