Forrest Research Foundation

  • Full-time, fixed-term opportunity for 18 months, with possibility of extension
  • Salary range: Level 6: $83,005 – $87,723 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team 

The Forrest Foundation (the Foundation) at the University of Western Australia (UWA) has been established following the donation of $65 million over 10 years by Andrew and Nicola Forrest. Their donation is to assist Western Australia in becoming a world-class centre of research and innovation through attracting the next generation of outstanding intellects to this state to pursue doctoral studies or postdoctoral fellowships.

The Foundation shall assist the University of Western Australia’s Senate and Vice-Chancellor in all matters associated with the terms of the Deed of Gift.

About the opportunity 

As the appointee you will, under general direction, be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Forrest Research Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship programs, including overseeing the effective processing of scholarship and fellowship applications, financial management of the Scholarships portfolio in liaison with Financial Services and the Graduate Research Schools, monitoring annual budgets, providing advice and guidance to the Director and the Forrest Scholarships Selection Committee on award guidelines, and serving as Executive Assistant to the Committee of Governors of the Foundation and to the Director.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency
  • Substantial relevant senior administrative experience at an appropriate level
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out research and write reports
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and lead and work productively as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a capability to interact with senior level stakeholders
  • Experience working in a University environment or similar large organisation
