  • Level 6, full-time appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years
  • Base salary range: $ $84,665 - $89,477 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team

DNA Zoo Australia (DZA), research initiative with the University of Western Australia dedicated to generating high-quality genomic resources for Western Australia species and a member of a global comparative genomics consortium. DNA Zoo’s mission is to leverage comparative genomic data to improve ecosystem stability and human health. DZA provides computational and analytic resources to advance scientific discovery through its multi-disciplinary team of wet-lab and computational scientists who work on collaborative projects both within Australia and with the global members of the DNA Zoo community.

About the opportunity

You will manage the administrative and operational aspects of the DNA Zoo Australia program. You will play a key role in designing, coordinating, and managing multiple stakeholder engagements to meet the objectives and help shape the future development of the DNA Zoo Australia program.  You will also work closely with the DNA Zoo Australia Director and global stakeholders involved.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in life sciences or other numerical disciplines or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Experience managing mid-sized events (10-100 participants), both face-to-face and on-line
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, basic web-design and video conferencing
  • Ability to liaise with professional colleagues and industry partners
