The Australian Catholic University (ACU) is an inclusive community, with over 35,000 students and staff, spread across seven campuses in Australia and one in Rome. The University's Institute for Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE), undertakes a range of interdisciplinary research programs, focused on improving contemporary teaching and learning outcomes for children, teachers, and their communities.

Presently, the University is seeking to appoint a Professor in Teacher Education and Performance, who will play a pivotal role in leading collaborative research projects to identify and implement a broad range of solutions to critical issues affecting teachers and their students, both in Australia and internationally. Situated within the Faculty of Education and Arts, and reporting to the Institute's Director, the incumbent will possess a deep and nuanced understanding of teacher education policy, student learning, pedagogy, assessment, and educational technology, along with the ability to drive positive change in the field and enhance the quality and effectiveness of teacher education programs more broadly.

This is an opportunity for a talented and capable professional to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the Institute's mission. Demonstrating a strong commitment to teacher education and performance, and with a demonstrated track record of leading and contributing to large-scale teacher education projects, they will be an accomplished educator, with the ability to collaborate successfully with a diverse array of stakeholders, including schools, regulatory authorities, policymakers, and industry partners. Key to this will be the ability to provide leadership in driving collaborations and initiatives for the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA) with ACU's 18 Higher Education Institutions drawn from all states and territories, as well as sustaining collaborations with peak bodies to ensure the GTPA's continuous success. With experience of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, they will also possess the experience and ability to assemble and motivate high-performing project teams, driving research excellence and producing world-class scholarship, in alignment with the Institute's strategic objectives and goals.
