What you’ll do

As Professor or Associate Professor (Occupational Therapy), you will lead the ongoing development of the University’s offerings in Occupational Therapy, our Associate Degree in Allied Health and related health programs, including internal and external accreditation.

Bringing your academic experience, combined with your clinical experience in hospital, industry, or private practice), you will contribute to the leadership and delivery of courses and the ongoing development of programs. You will work with a growing and diverse team while building strong industry linkages to develop and deliver a modern and relevant teaching program with positive student outcomes. You will also lead and facilitate research for the discipline.

One appointment will be made as either Professor or Associate Professor, dependent on your qualifications and experience.

About you          

In addition to your relevant formal qualifications in the area of Occupational Therapy and registration (or eligibility for registration) as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, you will have full registration in good standing as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Professions Regulation Agency (or international equivalent), and additional certification required for ongoing clinical practice or clinical supervision.

You will also have:

    • leadership experience in higher education.
    • detailed knowledge of the accreditation standards for the development of occupational therapy programs, and experience in tertiary level program design and curriculum development.
    • clinical experience in hospital, industry or private practice, sufficient to train novice clinicians and provide professional development for peers.
    • experience in clinician education, ideally within the university sector, including experience in the development and delivery of curriculum and assessments using multi-modal delivery approaches.
    • strong interprofessional relationships within allied health and a proven commitment to interprofessional education and collaboration.
    • a research track record which demonstrates a strong commitment to furthering knowledge in the discipline and engaging with industry.

We are particularly interested in those who have a versatile background and record of scholarly accomplishment and engagement in external modes of delivery, Indigenous, regional, rural and remote health, interprofessional education and student led clinic models. Research portfolios may include a range of topics.

Associate Professor:  
Total remuneration range $183,158 to $201,404 pa (includes salary range of $154,759 to $170,177 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)

Professor: Total remuneration $234,865 pa (includes salary of $198,449 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
