About the opportunity
The College of Arts Law and Education is looking for a Professional Experience Officer to join their dynamic, fast paced Professional Experience team.
The Professional Experience Team is responsible for supporting a wide range of administrative functions in the professional experience placement programs across our schools.
The role provides an important link between the University and partnering agencies by providing advice on all matters related to professional experience placements.
The role also provides administrative services to the professional experience program within the wider College, including the coordination of placement requests, student assessments, and payment to in school supervisors.
As the new Professional Experience Officer, you will be a great communicator who loves working in a dynamic team environment where no one day is the same. You will have strong attention to detail and love being responsible for managing your own work to meet team deadlines.
What you’ll do:
- Support placement lifecycle activities across the College including, but not limited to, negotiating placements with external stakeholders, coordinate student enrolment, support the student assessment process, process supervision payments, and respond to student enquiries.
- Coordinate all compliance requirements for students (including direct follow up with students) undertaking professional experience placement to ensure students meet the University, industry partner, jurisdictional and accreditation body requirements.
- Work with the Coordinator, Professional Experience in ensuring students are placed appropriately based on accreditation requirements and UTAS Guidelines and contribute to the smooth operation of the Professional Experience program.
- Provide advice to students and external stakeholders and solve problems related to all aspects of Professional Experience placements.
- Use the University’s placement software to prepare placement requests to placement providers according to the professional experience calendar, and to maintain an accurate record and history of student placements.
- Provide support to collate and summarise bulk student data using various IT systems, to support procedures regarding the Professional Experience program.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- High level of computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office suite, and various databases.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $86,321 comprising base salary within the range of $69,646 to $73,779 plus 17% superannuation.
