About the Role
Join Swinburne University as our Procurement Manager – Software & Projects! We're seeking a dynamic and commercially focused procurement professional to lead strategic procurement initiatives across various spend areas. Reporting to the Associate Director, Procurement Business Partnering, you'll play a pivotal role in driving value and implementing sustainable procurement practices aligned with our university's strategic goals.

In this role, you'll oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from category planning to execution and contract management. Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be crucial for providing expert commercial advice and identifying innovative solutions to complex business challenges. Your expertise in the software and IT market, coupled with a deep understanding of cost and service dependencies, will ensure alignment with our key commercial priorities.

Primarily focused on our technology portfolio, including software licensing and IT projects, you'll work closely with business units to source solutions compatible with our IT infrastructure and security requirements. Collaborating with our Procurement Manager, Technology & Projects, you'll support in delivering procurement processes within the IT space and beyond.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Significant experience in procurement or commercial roles, preferably within the Software and Technology category
  • Developed relationship management experience, including the ability to positively influence, motivate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in delivering results and innovative solutions in large and/or complex organisations
  • Strong analytical, evaluation, and research skills, together with ability to translate data into meaningful insights
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple and complex projects and hold a commitment to meeting timelines

Qualifications

  • Relevant diploma or degree qualification, and/or progressing towards postgraduate qualifications
