As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be part of the Software Engineering team within Digital Services, reporting directly to the Digital Platforms Manager, Software Engineering. Our team is a diverse group of professionals who work collaboratively to innovate and support each other.

As a Principal Software Engineer you will:

  • Act as a coach and work with team members to ensure effective delivery of digital solutions within the stream’s program of work
  • Collaborate closely with Digital Services Delivery Managers, Business Partners, Practice Leads, Project Managers and Digital Architects to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring effective outcomes
  • Ensure alignment of Salesforce technical solution designs with Digital Architecture principles and documentation
  • Drive key technical design decisions, recommend domain patterns, and provide platform expertise to enable speed to value and business agility
  • Deliver effective and efficient direction while enabling devolved problem solving and provide expert leadership within a stream of projects and operational work, in technical delivery and release management and ensure solutions are leading practice and sustainable​                                                                                                                                     

In your first 6-12 months, you will:

  • Settle in, learn the Deakin landscape, get to know your teams, and the technologies you will be working using.
  • Establish relationships and connections with teams while comprehending our vision, objectives, and team inclusion agreements.
  • Work with your delivery stream and practice team to deliver initiatives, features, and change requests to improve the teaching, learning, research and administration experiences at Deakin.
  • Become the voice and subject matter expert for your domain. Provide guidance and assistance on inquiries pertaining to Integration for various individuals.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (Salesforce)
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Salesforce Developer, proficient skills in Lightning Web Components, web services, Apex, triggers, process builders, flows.
  • Experience configuring and architecting solutions encompassing and ranging from large enterprise platforms and bespoke in-house development​
  • Knowledge of best practice software engineering processes, frameworks and methodologies
  • Salesforce Sales, Service and Marketing Cloud knowledge and experience
