The Enterprise Systems domain has been established with the aim of driving transformation in the student and staff experience via the provision of modern enterprise platforms and the introduction of more contemporary user-facing practices.

The Student Management Systems (SMS) Transformation Program seeks to bring about a step change in the experience of a student as they administer their Monash journey. This will be enabled by the introduction of a new modern core SMS platform. A consistent interface will ‘wrap around’ this platform to allow a student to easily perform the administrative steps needed to progress from enrolment to graduation.

The Opportunity

The Principal Business Analyst will be responsible for leading the delivery of advanced business strategy and business analysis solutions, providing a high-level understanding of the system(s) and business process change(s) required to support the University’s strategic objectives.  

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of analysis activities for programs aligning with business unit and university goals
  • Lead and manage advanced business analysis services, selecting methods and tools, validating business needs, preparing cases, and overseeing the development and implementation of solutions
  • Lead a highly trained team, set requirements guidelines, drive user engagement for innovation, and initiate/maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders to enhance business policies and processes

About YOU!

We are seeking a strong communicator who can play a critical role as the bridge between business objectives and technological solutions. Additionally, you will have the following:

  • Hands-on and excellent analytical and conceptual skills, turning complex business issues into innovative, practical solutions that align with business needs
  • Extensive experience in business analysis and its application to effectively manage IT implementations
  • Outstanding planning and organisational skills coupled with superior relationship management
  • Experience in organising and facilitating workshops with diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Prior experience with higher education student management systems would be desirable
