Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Principal Automation Consultant to join Digital Business Solution, Administrative Division.

The Principal Automation Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving the success of automation initiatives within our enterprise environment. This role demands a deep understanding of low code solution delivery, in technologies such as the Microsoft Power Platform or Appian solutions or similar, and a commitment to ensuring that these technologies align seamlessly with our business processes and requirements. The Principal Automation Consultant will contribute significantly to the design, architecture, implementation, and management of automation projects. The Principal Automation Consultant will also support the Automation and Enabling Services Manager to embed a business culture of continuous improvement, learning and innovation in alignment with the Digital Enabling Services strategic planning.

What you need to succeed

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications ideally combined with Power Platform, Appian, or related technologies experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership of end-to-end low code solution delivery in a large and complex enterprise environment.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to conceptualise, establish and implement new initiatives and innovative solutions within a specified framework, in accordance with industry standards.
  • Well-developed ability to identify, prevent remediate or mitigate adverse impacts of automation and enabling system availability on business continuity through the identification and resolution of functional designs, technical incidents and requests.
  • Proven ability to participate in design and architecture sessions, gathering and documenting business processes and requirements.
  • Demonstrated technical experience with Power Platform, Appian, or similar low code platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation along with the ability to exercise judgement in an impartial manner, provide advice and recommend, manage, and implement change.
