About This Opportunity 

The Principal Analyst, Evaluations, plays a crucial role in the Student Surveys and Evaluations Team (SSET) at the University of Queensland. This role is responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing end-to-end evaluation projects of varying sizes and complexities. The Principal Analyst also supports key strategic policy and practice improvements related to student surveys and evaluations, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting obligations. Working closely with subject matter experts within SSET and the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI), this role coordinates various activities across all phases of survey and evaluation administration, including annual project planning, progression monitoring, and evaluation outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Coordinate the entire course evaluation process, including scheduling, data collection, and reporting. Analyse student survey data to identify trends and inform improvements in course design and student learning outcomes.

  • Provide in-depth support to schools and faculties, enhancing data quality and advising on evaluation procedures and policy. Develop reports and data visualizations to assist academic leaders in making data-driven decisions.

  • Contribute to the team's operation by managing inquiries, participating in meetings, and creating online resources. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations.


About You  

Essential

  • Hold a relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess extensive expertise in evaluation methodologies and frameworks, with a proven track record managing large-scale surveys and institutional research projects.

  • Demonstrate experience using survey management systems, data analysis tools (Excel, Business Objects, Power BI), and project planning methodologies.

  • Exhibit excellent written and communication skills, fostering effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams, faculty, and staff.

  • Show a proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, work effectively under deadlines, anticipate future needs, and resolve complex issues.

Desirable

  • Prior experience of using a student survey platform.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
