About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a multi-disciplinary team of scholars focused on understanding the impact of visual images on prosocial behaviour. The Research Fellow would be dedicated to advancing two funded research projects on visual images. One project investigates the impact of images in fundraising and nonprofit marketing. This project develops new evidence-based visual strategies through significant interdisciplinary collaborations with leading industry partners in Australia and abroad. Expected outcomes include best practice guidelines that better equip humanitarian organisations to help people in need. The second project is designed to understand the psychological factors underpinning climate (in)action, and test visual tools capable of catalysing action. The significant benefits that will emerge will assist in future-proofing the economy, increasing government flexibility to drive change, and reducing social conflict.

Key responsibilities will include:

Research

  • Publish or exhibit in high quality research outlets.

  • Participate in applications for competitive research funding to support projects and activities.

  • Work with colleagues in the development of joint research projects and applications for competitive research funding support.

  • Demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and the management of researcher development.

Citizenship and Service

  • Demonstrate citizenship behaviours that align to the UQ values.
