Base Salary Level A $105,350 –$112,462 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use provides a world-first synergy of leading epidemiological, prevention, early intervention, and treatment research and translation programs in substance use and mental disorders. The Matilda Centre brings together researchers in broad fields to share skills, integrate data, and harness new technologies to shed light on the nature and understanding of substance use and mental disorders as well as develop and trial innovative prevention, early intervention and treatment programs.
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct quantitative data analysis and data harmonisation. The project will require you to work with an extensive range of secondary data and perform sophisticated data analysis to find whether psychological distress changes over time across various age groups and cohorts. Extensive coding experience and knowledge of mental health would heavily assist in succeeding in this role.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Work with large secondary data collections and liaise with data custodians
conduct extensive data coding to compare and combine relevant data
conduct quantitative analysis to understand trends in mental health over time
undertake publication writing and reporting on evidence found through data research
discover, report, and present critical findings by completing presentations for the team
attend and present key findings at conferences
About you
hold a PhD in mental health and/or substance use research (preferred), public health, psychology, epidemiology, biostatistics, or similar
statistical experience with epidemiological data in R, SAS, SPSS or similar platforms.
previous experience with publication writing is highly desirable
extensive attention to detail and experience with data management/coding
proven ability to work independently and autonomously as well as in a team as needed
work in an organised and holistic manner, ensuring key deadlines are met
ability to travel nationally across Australia (travel will be funded by the University).
