Base Salary, Academic Level A $100,717 - $112,462 pro rata + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering (AMME) is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Micro- and Nanosystems to contribute to cutting-edge research projects and experiments on piezo-actuated photonic micro- and nanosystems.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work as a member of a team under the supervision of A/Prof. Niels Quack
perform research on photonic micro-electro-mechanical systems
develop design by analytical and numerical modeling
develop microfabrication processes in the clean room labs
develop testing in optics laboratory
disseminate results at suitable venues and prepare follow-up research projects.
About you

a Ph.D. in mechanical or electrical engineering, applied physics or a related discipline
a strong background in design and fabrication of micro- and nanosystems
a solid understanding of physics at the micro- and nanoscale
a solid understanding of micro- and nanofabrication processes
practical experience with microsystems design tools (FEM simulation, layout editors, etc.)
practical experience in a clean room laboratory.
Previous experience with piezo-electric thin film deposition/actuation and photonic integrated circuits would be highly desirable.
