The Position
This is a key role for a Postdoctoral Fellow in computational and observational geodynamics to work on the reconstruction of the thermo-chemical state of Earth’s mantle, in space and time. The position will focus on the computational development, validation and application of inverse methods that allow present-day and time-dependent observations to be propagated backward through geological history, together with their uncertainties.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be a member of Research School of Earth Sciences  (RSES). RSES is Australia’s leading academic research institution for Earth and Marine Sciences, and ranked 11th in the world for Earth and Marine Sciences (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023 ). The Person
To excel in this, you will have a strong interest in geodynamics, in addition to the capacity for interdisciplinary research. You should demonstrate an emerging/excellent publication record relative to opportunity. Your ability to lead by example, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels within RSES in line with the RSES Culture Statement .
