Overview
Edith Cowan University’s Nutrition and Health Innovation Research Institute has recently created a Postdoctoral Fellowship to undertake an implementation project in the South West region of Western Australia. The Fellowship is funded by the Western Australia (WA) Department of Health Future Health Research and Innovation Fund. It is a 3-year project to improve the delivery of supportive cancer care services to people in the regional and rural South West region of the state.

The Role
The School is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead an implementation science project focused on improved referrals to supportive cancer care services (i.e., exercise and nutrition) with the health care partners delivering cancer care to people in the South West Region of WA. The research will involve an exploration of current practices and subsequent design and application of an implementation and evaluation project in partnership with multiple health service providers. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct and co-ordinate research studies
  • Publish and promote the results of the research
  • Engage in the supervision and training of research students
  • Work collaboratively across health service and research partners
  • Be working with ECU research partners located in and around the South West Campus, Bunbury in the South West of WA
Skills and Experience

You must have:

  • A PhD in an appropriate field (applications can be accepted from current PhD candidates, but the PhD must be submitted prior to commencement of the contract)
  • Experience in planning and conducting scientific research
  • Excellent scientific writing skills with a demonstrated record of research publication
  • Interest in and knowledge of implementation methods
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with a range of healthcare professionals and services
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage projects and budgets

Experience and demonstrated interest with working within cancer care services and implementation projects would be highly regarded

Benefits & Remuneration
This full-time, fixed term position attract remuneration of: $90,957 - $97,389 (ALEVA), or $102,253 - $120,814 (ALEVB) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
