Overview

Edith Cowan University is a vibrant and growing university in Perth, Western Australia. The University has a growing international reputation for academic and research excellence, particularly in the field of Melanoma and Liquid Biopsy. The team led by an internationally recognised expert in liquid biopsy, Associate Professor  Elin Gray, and has purpose built laboratories within the Centre for Precision  Health at the School of Medical and Health Sciences and has recently joined a program funded by the the Cancer Research Trust (http://cancerresearchtrust.org.au) to enable single cell approaches to study tumour biology. The program led by Professor Alistair Forrest at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is based in Perth Western Australia and is a collaboration involving all of the major hospitals, medical research institutes and Universities in the region.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on the state of the art program on single cell sequencing and analysis based at the ECU Melanoma Research Laboratory and at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. 

We are seeking a researcher who has completed their PhD in molecular biology or biochemistry (or related discipline) with an emphasis in the specific fields of cancer biology, cancer biomarkers, circulating tumour cells and bioinformatics.

A suitable candidate should have experience on cancer biology and bioinformatics, and a demonstrated capacity to form hypotheses, experimental design and writing high quality journal articles. Experience in research on circulating tumour cells analysis and/or single cell sequencing would be an advantage.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full-time fixed term (3 years) position attracts remuneration of $94,140 - $100,797 at Level A or $125,832 - $125,043 pm at Level B plus 17% superannuation. Appointment at Level B would usually commence at the bottom of the range.
