ECU is home to the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC), established with academic, government and industry partners attracting around $140m of funding.  The ECU Security Research Institute (ECUSRI) is an internationally recognized leader in multidisciplinary security science research, housed in a purpose-built world class cyber security research and training facility.  ECU is proud to be the first Australian University to be part of The International Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (INCS-CoE) building strong international partnerships for research collaboration and training with world-leading partnerships. ECU is looking for to appoint a number of outstanding post-doctoral researchers to contribute to applied research projects funded though the CSCRC.

Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC)
The CSCRC has been funded for 7 years by the Commonwealth Government’s Cooperative Research Centres Program and has also attracted significant funding from its participants. The CSCRC is an industry-driven collaboration to create and enhance Australian cyber security capability. The CSCRC has 25 participants which includes 19 industry/government entities and 6 universities and fosters collaboration with industry, academia, and government to deliver collaborative research outcomes articulated by industry and government..

ECU is recruiting 5 Post-Doctoral Researchers to contribute to one or more of the following areas

1. Cyber Incident Response (2 Positions, fixed-term project up to 24 month).  ECU is leading a CSCRC research theme that focuses on all aspects of incident response capability applied to critical infrastructure and systems of national significance.  Successful candidates should have an established track record of applied research in the area of incident response and demonstrate working knowledge of current practices.  Successful candidates will be expected to contribute their expertise to other CSCRC projects, including those conducted by PhD scholars, and in particular the ACDC project below.

The project is supported by thought leaders in this field (BAE DI, ACSC and AICD) and will take a design thinking approach to the development of board-level cybersecurity strategy explored and validated through focus groups with senior leaders across Australia.  Research expertise is sought in Cybersecurity Education, Experiential Learning, Gamification, Cybersecurity Awareness, Corporate Governance, Cybersecurity Strategy, Design Science.
