UNSW isn’t like other places you’ve worked. Yes, we’re a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing great things. But what makes us different isn’t what we do, it’s how we do it. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do.

Why your role matters

As a Post-Doctoral Fellow (Level A) you will contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to your particular field of research. You will work as part of a team in the field of ocular research with a major focus on corneal homeostasis, corneal disease, corneal stem cell biology, and developing methods for transplanting stem cells as a therapeutic option to treat patients with blindness caused by severe corneal disease. The teams’ research focus is on the mammalian cornea, more specifically its epithelium and other resident cells that support this tissue in a healthy state. The research also involves ascertaining the cellular, molecular and biochemical interactions that transpire when the cornea is injured, and the intrinsic programs activated to initiate its repair. Many of these investigations will be conducted in animal models, in culture systems, and in human tissue specimens if available.

The role of Post-Doctoral Fellow reports to the Professor and has no direct reports. Please see attached  Position Description  for full details.
