About Us:

Victoria University (VU) Polytechnic  is the TAFE division of Victoria University and delivers accredited courses, apprenticeships, traineeships and customised training programs that link closely with industry. Our plumbing courses are delivered in a modern, purpose-built, specialty trades facility at the Sunshine campus

VU Polytechnic is seeking applications from experienced plumbers who would like to change their career path and become a TAFE Teacher.

Being a TAFE Teacher:

As a TAFE Teacher, you will have the opportunity to share your trade experience with the next generation of plumbers. You will collaborate with other teachers in developing learning resources for our plumbing courses, as well as training and assessing students, and maintaining accurate records.

What We Are Offering to Change your Career:

If you do not hold the required minimum TAFE Teaching qualification of TAE40116 or are not qualified to teach TAFE courses, the University will cover the full tuition fees to enroll in a skill set that forms part of this qualification. Once complete, you can commence your role as a TAFE Teacher and undertake the remainder of your TAE40116 while you work.

Salary and Conditions of Employment:

  • For the full-time and part-time roles, the full-time equivalent salary range is from  $83,505 pro rata per annum to $105,855 pro rata per annum, plus 10.5% superannuation and is dependent on experience and qualifications.
  • For the sessional teaching roles, the hourly rate payable is $83.56 plus 10.5% superannuation.
  • Conditions of employment will be covered by Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019.

About You:

  • You will need to hold relevant and/or current trade qualifications and a minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
  • Are passionate about sharing your knowledge with the next generation of plumbers.
  • Willingness to continually learn and develop as a TAFE Teacher.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (E).
